Prepare for your bridal journey with these essential tips

Gather your inspiration

Now is the perfect time to start collecting wedding inspiration. Exploring your venue, wedding style, and gown ideas can help give you a clearer vision before your appointment. Pinterest is a great place to begin!

Keep an Open Mind

Try different silhouettes and discover what feels most like you. The dress you leave with might surprise you!

Know Your Timeline

Have your wedding date ready so your stylist can guide you through timeframes and alterations.

Choose Your Support Team

Bring the people who make you feel confident and celebrated. Share this special moment with those you love. Sometimes less is more! Please note we do have a limit of 6 guests

Check Your Sizing

Bridal sizing is very different from everyday clothing, and each bridal designer has their own size chart. Before your appointment, we recommend checking your measurements against our size guide to get an idea of which sizes may suit you best.

Knowing your approximate bridal size helps make the most of your appointment, allowing your stylist to select gowns that are more likely to fit from the start.

If you fall between sizes, don't worry! We can usually alter gowns up to two sizes smaller for the perfect fit.

Looking to shop before your appointment? You can also browse dresses by size on our website to see which gowns are available in your size. As most of our gowns are samples, we generally have one size available in each style.

What To Bring

A little preparation can help you feel confident and comfortable while trying on gowns. We recommend bringing or wearing the following:

Hair styling

Wear your hair in a way that allows you to visualise your bridal look. Some brides find it helpful to bring a hair clip so they can easily try their hair up or down with different gown styles.

Light makeup and no fake tan

This keeps our sample gowns clean and looking beautiful for the future bride who's going to say yes to that dress!

Undergarments

Nude or light-coloured underwear is encouraged as this helps you visualise each gown without any colours or patterns showing through. If you’re planning on wearing shapewear or a specific undergarment, feel free to bring it along so you can see how your gown feels with your chosen pieces. Our gowns are designed with support and structure in mind, so most brides do not require a bra underneath.

Bridal shoes (optional)

You’re welcome to bring your wedding shoes to help visualise your complete look; however, this isn’t essential. Most brides are happy using our bridal box to stand on, and we also have spare shoes available to try with your favourite gown.

Jewellery or Veils

If you already have special pieces you plan to wear on your wedding day, such as jewellery or a veil, bring them along. It can be a beautiful way to see your full bridal vision come together with your favourite gowns.

Bring your wedding vision

Bring along any images or ideas that inspire you, whether it’s your venue, wedding style, or gowns you’ve been loving. This helps us understand your vision and allows our stylists to recommend dresses that feel aligned with your dream day.

Additional Information

Arriving for Your Appointment

  • You’re welcome to arrive 5–10 minutes early for your appointment. This allows us to ensure the previous bride receives the full experience before you begin.
  • Our Saturday appointments run back-to-back, so we kindly ask that you arrive on time, or please let us know if you are running late. 
  • If you need to cancel, please let us know as soon as you know, as we often keep a cancellation list. 
  • We have on-site parking infront of the Trish Peng store, or there is plenty of street parking.

Finding Your Gown

  • Don’t be surprised if you find your gown at your first appointment; many brides do!
  • Come with an open mind and allow your stylist to guide you through the process. Our stylists have extensive experience with our collection and can often suggest gowns you may not have considered, but could end up loving.
  • We offer complimentary 30-minute retry appointments, so you can come back with a fresh mind and try up to three of your favourite gowns again.
